Prepare your Cadillac ELR for an easier wiper change

Lift your wipers up from the windshield

With your wipers stopped midway on your windshield it should be easy to lift your wipers up and away from your windshield.
Your old wipers should stick out, away, from your windshield. Now allowing for easy access during the rest of the changing process.

Before you remove old wiper blades

Be sure to take note of which new blade length goes on which side.
Measure or just compare old blade length to the new wiper blades.
Then place the new blades on the correct side.

Remove old wiper blades

Your 2015 Cadillac ELR has a Pinch Tab Button (PTB) style attachment for the windshield wipers to connect with.
Different wiper manufacturers use different style attachments for the Pinch Tab Button (PTB) attach type. Push the button and slide the wiper away from the arm.

Connect the new Rain-X Latitude Beam Blade wipers

• You must remove the entire pre-installed connector from the wiper.
  Method 1: Grasp the connector tightly and pull up sharply on it while holding the wiper with your other hand. It should come right off.
  
  Method 2: Use a small flat head screwdriver. Insert under connector about 1" and slowly pry up. It should come right off.
  
  
• Attach the other connector.
  Make sure the the small arrow on the top of the wiper blade is pointing LEFT
  
  Center it over the bracket mount. Then press firmly down until it CLICKS into place.
  
• Notice the "teeth" on the wiper arm and match them to the slots on the connector.
  Line them up and PUSH DOWN. Then slide the blade forward.
  
• Finally secure the wiper in place by sliding the locking tab down until the release button snaps back in to place.
  
• You willll know it iss locked on when you hear/feel the CLICK
  
• Be sure to REMOVE PLASTIC COVER FROM THE BLADE

Check all connections...

Tug on the wipers to double check that all wiper blades are locked on to the wiper arms.

Lower wipers back down to their functional positions.

Carefully lower your new wipers down to your windshield. Discard old wipers and packaging material.

Different wiper manufacturers use different style attachments for the Wide Push Button (PTB) style attach type. With the arm lifted arm away from windshield: push the button then pull off the old wiper blade.

Connect the new Rain-X Longitude beam wipers

• To install your new Rain-X Longitude wiper blade on a Wide Push Button (PTB) arm the you must determine if you have Wide Push Button (PTB):
  

  Lets confirm your wiper arm before we continue.

  A penny will fit in a WIDE Push Button arm.
  But a penny will NOT fit in a Wide Push Button arm.
  
  

  Only continue if you have a WIDE PUSH BUTTON arm

  1. Wide Push Button (PTB) arm:
     To continue you must remove the adapter:
     
     Lift front end of adapter to remove:
     
     
  2. In the package locate the adapter "A" and the connector "M":
     Note: Align the arrows in the SAME direction:
     
     
     
  3. Place the "A" adapter on TOP of the "M" connector and press down:
     
     
     
  4. Press until they "Click" in to place:
     
     
     
  5. Next, Align the assembeled "A" adapter so that the arrow on the top is pointing in the SAME direction as the arrow on the base wiper:
     
     
     
  6. Insert the front of the "A" adapter in to the slot in the base:
     
     
     
  7. Press firmly until it "Clicks" and locks in place:
     
     
     
  8. The wiper is ready to install. Tilt the adapter up:
     
     
     
  9. Slide in to the opening of the wiper arm until the Lock Button "Clicks" locked:
     
     
     
  10. REMEMBER: Remove the blade edge cover:
      
      
  11. Do the same procedure for the other wiper blade.

Check all connections...

Tug on the wipers to double check that all wiper blades are locked on to the wiper arms.

Lower wipers back down to their functional positions.

Connect the new Rain-X Transparency+ Beam Blade wipers

• First pry off the adapter cover. Slide thumb nail under the corner of the cover and pull off with your other hand.
  
  Remove and discard outer cover.
  
• Guide both sets of rear tabs in to the end of the wiper arm
  Slide the blade down, under the Rain-X logo, in the adapter channel until it CLICKS.
  After the CLICK the wiper is locked in to place.
  
• Be sure to REMOVE PLASTIC COVER FROM THE BLADE
  
• Now activate the "Blade Change Indicator" by removing the sticker:
  Over time the black dot will turn YELLOW when it's time to change your wiper blade.
  

• Check all connections...

  Tug on the wipers to double check that all wiper blades are locked on to the wiper arms.

• Lower wipers back down to their functional positions.

  Carefully lower your new wipers down to your windshield. Discard old wipers and packaging material.
  

• Finally Activate the Rain-X Water Repellency Technology.

  • Be sure your windshield is clean and dry.
  • Turn ON your new wiper blades. Run them DRY on your windshield for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then briefly spray your washer fluid and watch for water beading. That indicates the technology has been activated.
